Bernestine Moore Petway
May 23, 1934 – March 7, 2012

Bernestine Moore Petway, 77, of Elm City went to be with the Lord on Wednesday.  Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Thursday at Refuge Trinity Holiness Church, 6108 Justin Tr/Hwy 301N, Elm City.  The family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be 2 p.m. Friday in Maplewood Cemetery.  The Rev. Sonny Griswold will officiate.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that will be missed and thought of by all, her family will always love her and their hearts will be warm with thoughts of her.

Bernestine  is survived by her husband, Robert Brooks Petway; daughter, Emma Jean Small of Elm City; sons, Robert Brooks Petway, Jr., Dail Brent Petway, Allen Britt Petway all of Elm City and Bruce Petway of Rock Ridge; brother, Wiley Calhoun Moore, Jr. of Crisp; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley Calhoun Moore and Bessie Harris Moore; sister, Pauline Gardner and brother Leroy Moore.
