Mae Denton Winstead
June 11, 1933 – March 7, 2012

Mae Denton Winstead, 78, of Elm City passed away on Wednesday.  Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. The family will receive friends before service between 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.  Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.  The Rev. Tim McFatter will officiate. 

Mrs. Winstead is survived by her daughters, Wanda Farmer and husband, David of Elm City and Beverly Whitman and husband, Lewis of Newport; sons Earl Wayne Winstead and wife, Tootsie and Bennie Joe Winstead and wife, Donna both of Elm City; grandchildren, Lewis Whitman, Jr., Kim Taylor, Brandon Winstead and Kristie Corson; great-grandchildren; Brittany and Courtney Taylor, Tiffany Whitman, Elese and Jake Corson; sisters, Dorothy Cone of Middlesex, Jo Anne Mitchell of Spring Hope and Carolyn Perry of Zebulon; brothers, Eli Winston Denton, Jr. of Middlesex and Danny Denton of Louisburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Earl Winstead.
