Ruth Banks Holland
March 17, 1923 – March 12, 2012


Ruth Banks Holland, 88, of Wilson passed away Monday.  Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Jerry Burton will officiate.

The family will receive friends 7 – 9 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at Planters Walk, 1000 Stones Landing, Knightdale, NC.

Ruth was a loving mother and friend to all that knew her. She was a retired school teacher for Wilson County.

Mrs. Holland is survived by daughter, Marilyn Ruth Banks and husband, Chris Hearn of Knightdale; son, James B. Banks Jr. and wife, Olivia of Wake Forest and her sister, Esther Wood of Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Banks; parents, Needham Coy and Bonnie Williamson, and her brothers, Elton R. Peele and Edward Peele.

Arrangements are by Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway.

Marilyn and Jim: Your Mom was a special friend and neighbor to us all. I will never forget our walks, talks and the love she gave me. Her heart was so full of love and right! A special lady has passed. Our love and thoughts are with you and your family. Carolyn and Doug

I REMEMBER MRS. BANKS FROM HER TEACHING DAYS AT ROCK RIDGE. SHE WAS ALWAYS A LOVELY LADY AND VERY PLEASANT. IN LATER YEARS WHEN I SAW HER, SHE WAS STILL THE SAME LOVELY LADY AS SHE WAS AT ROCK RIDGE. SHE IS MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HER. MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY.
