Sammy James Phillips
March 15, 1934 – April 23, 2012

Sammy James Phillips, 78, of Middlesex passed away Monday. Graveside services will be conducted 3 p.m. Thursday in Bailey Town Cemetery.  The Rev. Paul Tedder will officiate.

The family will receive friends 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway.

Sammy is survived by his wife, Florence Mildred “Millie” Felmet Phillips; two daughters, Pamela Phillips Perry of Bailey and Sharon Phillips Wright and husband, James of Kernersville; two granddaughters, Dawn Bunn and Lauren Wright; one great-granddaughter, C.J. Bunn and one great-grandson, Coy Bunn and a special nephew, Phil Phillips.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles DeWitt Phillips and Blanche Jordan Phillips; two brothers, Keith and Charles D. Phillips.
