Waddill, Nancy Rand

Nancy Rand Waddill
December 30, 1941 – May 26, 2012

Nancy Rand Waddill, 70, of Wilson passed away on Saturday.  Though family is profoundly saddened by Nancy Rand’s passing, we know she is with our Lord and free of the pain which she endured so bravely for many years.

Nancy Rand was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jennings Liles McInnis of Henderson, NC.  She is survived by her husband, Edmund Law Waddill Jr. of Wilson; her daughter, Liles Waddill Dunnigan and her husband, Tom and their two children Rand and Leila of Raleigh; her son, Edmund Law Waddill III and his wife, Mollie and their three children, Law, Hattie and Sallie of Raleigh; and her sister, Carolyn McInnis Lontz of Durham.  She is also survived by countless number of friends and loved ones who enabled her to confront her health challenges with courage and dignity.

Nancy Rand was a breast cancer survivor and volunteered extensively with the Wilson Cancer Society.  All who knew Nancy saw her as incredibly sweet and caring person who worked earnestly to lessen the pain of an illness she had conquered herself.  All will miss her.

Nancy’s family is eternally grateful to all the physicians, nurses and caretakers who worked tirelessly to put Nancy on a path to recovery.

The family will receive friends 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.  A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in Elmwood Cemetery, Henderson, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the SPOT (wilsonyouthunited.org) 910 Tarboro Street, Wilson, NC 27893 and Step-Up-Ministry (www.step-up.us) 1701 Oberlin Road, Raleigh, NC  27608.

Condolences may be directed to www.joyners.net.

Mollie, Although Edmund doesn't know me, please give him my love. I just lost my mom in March to breast cancer as well. I pray that someday others will not have to endure what our moms have struggled with so tirelessly. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers in these days ahead! Much love to you!
Harriett
