Donald Wells

October 25, 1935 – August 13, 2017

Donald Wells, 81 of Wilson passed away Sunday. His funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.  The Rev. Ray Barnhill will officiate.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.

Donald served his country with honor and pride with the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion. Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, an uncle, and he was especially fond of his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and a friend to all that knew him.  He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Christine Moore Wells of the home; his sons, Rickey Wells and wife, Lynda of Elmswell, England, Robert Wells and wife, Wendy of Wilson, Timmy Wells and wife, Angie of Bailey, and Mike Wells of the home; his daughter, Tammy Wells Autry and husband, Jeffrey of Wilson, and his grandchildren, Corey Autry, Haley Wells, Allie Wells, and Leia Autry all of Wilson, and Ryan Wells, Bradley Wells and Lauryn Wells all of England.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Sadie Raynor Wells; brothers, William Wells, Rayford Wells, Mark Wells, Douglas Wells, Johnnie Wells, and Benjamin Wells, and his sister, Dorothy Wells Lee.
