Doug Strickland November 5, 1934 – September 14, 2017 Doug Strickland, 82, of Wilson passed away Thursday. His funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Victory FWB, 5251 Wiggins Mill Road, Lucama. The family will receive friends immediately following service. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Wayne Whitley will officiate. Doug is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Shirley Joyner Strickland; daughters, Cindy McLaughlin of Wilson and Karen Parramore of Clayton; son, Eric Douglas Strickland, Jr. of Wilson; sister, Shirley Hayes of Sharpsburg; brothers, Selby Strickland, Jr. of Vero Beach, Florida and Tommy Strickland of Wilson; granddaughter, Erica Little of Lucama; grandsons, C.J. Ellis of Princeton, Tanner Brooks Ellis of Black Creek and Phillip Morgan of Wilson; nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Selby Jay and Dolly Norris Strickland.
