Lynn Windham

June 23, 1939 – June 1, 2014

Lynn Windham, 74, of Wilson passed away Sunday.  A funeral service will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday in Elmwood Cemetery, Fremont.  The Rev. Kem Lancaster will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of Roberta Powell of Lucama. Lynn was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him. He graduated from Fremont High School in 1957 and went to serve his country with honor and pride in the Army National Guard. Lynn is survived by his daughters, Shelia Carol Windham Saveall and husband, Craig of San Antonio, Texas and Amy Marie Windham Sweney and husband, Mark of Annapolis, Maryland; his son, Robert Glen Windham of Wilson; his granddaughters, Mary Candace Windham of Wilson, Caroline Barry Saveall of San Antonio, Texas, Claire Sweney of  Annapolis, Maryland and Leah Sweney of Annapolis, Maryland; his grandson, Ethan Barry Saveall of San Antonio, Texas; his great-grandchild, Jordan Boykin; his sisters, Ora Lee Harrell and husband, George “Mann” of Wilson, Sarah Elizabeth Jackson and husband, Jimmy of Fayetteville and Roberta Powell of Lucama and his brothers, Charles Windham and wife, Esther of Wylie, Texas and Earl Windham and wife, Susan of Fremont. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luby and Tessie Harris Windham; his sisters, Alice, Shirley and Christine and his brothers, Dick, Rand, Gerald and David.
