Alice Sanders Ellis July 5, 1963 – October 14, 2020 Alice Sanders Ellis passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 in Wilson. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2020 at First Presbyterian Church, 414 Sunset Road, Wilson. She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Godon Sanders and mother, Grace Walker Sanders. She is survived by her beloved husband, David Ralph Ellis of Wilson; brothers, Henry Walker and wife, Dabney of Greensboro and Bradford Hodge Sanders of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and her dogs, Maggie, and Cracker Jack. Alice was born in Laurinburg on July 5, 1963 and attended and graduated from Charlotte Latin School and later from Salem College with a degree in Economics. She worked in the banking industry for most of her professional life. She worked for NCNB which is now Bank of America for fifteen years and spent her final working years at BB&T in Wilson where she retired in 2018. Alice spent most of her life in Charlotte and moved to Dallas in 1997 and in 2007 she made her home in Wilson. She was married on November 2, 2013 to David. Alice was an active member of First Presbyterian Church where she was honored to serve as an Elder, Clerk of the Session and a Deacon. With her husband, David by her side they served as a Stephen Ministry Leaders with First Presbyterian Church. In retirement, Alice was also active in the community. She served on the Executive Board of the Barton College Wilson Symphony, and was a friend of The Hackney Library, and of the Wilson County Public Library. Alice was also a member of the Barton College Bell Society. Alice enjoyed a good glass of wine, charcuterie and watching the sun set. She was a devoted wife, loving sister, loyal friend, and a good Christian woman whose family and friends consumed her life. She loved her beloved dogs.
