Allen Wayne Gardner

Allen Wayne Gardner, 76, of Wilson passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Ferrell Family Cemetery, Morningside Road, Black Creek. Briann will officiate the service.  

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, September 17, 2025 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Wayne was a wonderful husband, daddy, granddaddy and a friend to all who knew him. He worked for over thirty years with Jones Heating and Cooling and with Wilson Medical Center in the maintenance department for over fifteen years. Wayne was very generous and giving to anyone who was in need. He was dearly loved and will be missed with wonderful memories that will bring a smile.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Audrey Gardner; sons, Joseph “Joey” Jarvis Jenkins, III and wife, Hope, Brian Allen Gardner, and Brian Matthew Gardner; daughter, Briann Marie Gardner and significant other, Austin Wooten; sister, Emily Gardner Davis and husband, Steve and his cute six furry friends, his weenie dogs.

He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Wayne Gardner; parents, Richard Allen Gardner and Eula Gray Moore; sister, Janie Kaye Gardner, and his brother, James Burkett Gardner.
