Andrea Downing Jordan, 95 of Wilson passed away Friday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Rev. Wayne Whitley will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 1:45 p.m. prior to the services at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.

Andrea grew up in a very large family, was married to her husband Horace for 65 years and worked hard all her life. She particularly enjoyed her work as a rural letter carrier for 20 years. Her passions were her family, especially her grandchildren and gardening.

Andrea is survived by her daughters, Wanda “Sherry” Jordan Denton and husband, Snookie, and Andrea “Faye” Jordan Day and husband, Frank all of Wilson; grandchildren, Tracy Day Meadows of Wilmington and Justin Denton of Durham, and great-grandchildren, Bradley Meadows of Wilmington, Elijah Denton, Lydia Denton, and Bethany Denton all of Wilson,

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace W. Jordan; parents, James Frederick and Stella Downing; sisters, Virginia “Jenny”, Agnes, Mitt, Evelyn, Audrey and Stella, and her brothers, Richard, Joe, Jake, Jim, Woodrow, Tommy, Carlton, and Wade.
