Barbara Ann Evan Pope Wells

Barbara Ann Evan Pope Wells, 79 of Wilson left this earthly home to be with her heavenly father and family on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Interment will follow in Black Creek Town Cemetery, Black Creek. Pastor Joe Shakour will officiate.

Barbara retired from Wilson Donut Shop after working forty plus years and she was a long-time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Millard “Mickey” Wayne Pope; daughter, Julie Ann Pope; son, Donald “Donnie” Wayne Pope; parents, Janie McKeel and Grady Lee Evans; brother, Jimmy Lee Evans and her long-time boyfriend, Charlie David Lucas.

Barbara is survived by her nephew, Roger Lucas and wife, Diane of Wilson.
