Barbara "Bobbie" Sue Etheridge Griffin

Barbara Sue Etheridge Griffin September 15, 1936 – May 30, 2021 Barbara “Bobbie” Sue Etheridge Griffin, 84 passed away Sunday. Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Pastor Johnny Hendricks and Rev. Gary Walling will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1 – 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the residence. Bobbie retired from the Wilson County School System as a teacher assistant, where her love for children made her job a joy. She was an active member at First Christian Church. Bobbie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to all who knew her. Her love for family will forever be in their hearts. Bobbie is survived by her husband of sixty years, Marion Louis Griffin; daughters, Wendy Griffin Wells and husband, Robert of Wilson, and Amanda “Mandy” Griffin Flowers and husband, Jeff of Wilson; granddaughters, Haley Elizabeth Wells, Allison “Allie” Wells Coggins and husband, Graham, Savannah Flowers Tripp and husband, Shane, and Gracie Claire Flowers; great-granddaughter, Georgia Lee Tripp and great-grandson, Steven Brooks Tripp; brother, Larry Etheridge of Elm City; her nephew, Larry Etheridge, II and wife, Jennifer; niece, Paula Pearson and husband, Chris; her sister-in-law, Estelle Baker and husband, Paul of Richmond, Kentucky, and numerous special cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Lawrence and Irma Lee Traylor Etheridge.
