Barbara Gardner Scott

Barbara Gardner Scott, 90 of Wilson passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. Pastor Ken Cobb will officiate.

The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 10 -10:45 a.m. prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Barbara was a statewide award-winning quilter. She loved to freeze, can food and was known for her pear preserves and pickles.

Babara is survived by her daughters, Donna Skinner Lucas and Vicky Scott Fabian; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Dora Jean Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Jackson Scott; parents, Robert Lee and Mamie Gardner, and her siblings, Ethel Simpson, Margie Marks, James Gardner, Jane Leggett and Robert Lee Gardner, Jr.
