Bertha Carraway Parris April 24, 1927 – June 3, 2020 Bertha Carraway Parris, 93 of Fremont passed away Wednesday. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Interment will follow in Stantonsburg Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Hall will officiate and Marquis Spell will officiate at the graveside. Bertha is survived by her son, Steve Allen Parris of Lucama; grandsons, Jeffrey Steven Parris of Raleigh and David Allen Parris of Clayton; great-grandson, Max Alexander Parris and her sisters, Peggy Jean Carraway Bradley and husband, Linwood, and Lillian Dale Carraway Parrish. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Galloway Parris for sixty-five years; son, Ernest Ray Parris; parents, Albert Lee Carraway and Clara Harris Carroway; sisters, Lydia Carraway. Frances Carraway McLeon, Evelyn Carraway Jordan, Dorothy Carraway and Ann Carraway Campbell and her brothers, Troy Carraway, Raymond Carraway, Earl Carraway, Ray Lee Carraway and Bobby Carraway.
