Betty Brewer Strickland

Betty Brewer Strickland, 98, of Wilson passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2026. A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Redemption Church at New Hope, 5142 NC Hwy 58 N, Wilson, with the family receiving friends immediately following the service. Pastor Justin Deeter will officiate.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Penny Womble and Melanie Womble both of Wilson; granddaughter, Allyson Moye (Ron) of Wilson; grandsons, Jimmy Miller and wife, Michelle of Wilson, Brewer Heath of Wilson, and Brody Heath and wife, Katelyn of Wilson; great-grandchildren, Kristin Miller, Alex Miller (Baylee), Kelsey Miller, Rachel Moye and Hunter Heath and her half-sister, Teresa Brewer Hendrickson of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Edgar Brewer and Mena Thompson Brewer; son-in-law, James “Joe” Heath, Jr.; sisters, Joyce Brewer Boyette, Bessie May Brewer Thompson, Juanita Brewer Robbins, Katie Gold Brewer Farris, and Dixie Brewer Peacock, and brothers, Selby Brewer, Sr., Joseph Edgar “T” Brewer, Jr., and Lonnie Carl Brewer;

Much appreciation to her loving caregivers, Christine Tolliver, Carolyn Puckett , Yvonne Williams, Pat Chatman and Valerie Russell.
