Betty Sue Britt Whitley September 18, 1947 – April 8, 2021 Betty Sue Britt Whitley, 73 of Lucama passed away Thursday with her loving family by her side to go home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1815 Airport Boulevard, Wilson. Interment to follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. Pastor Charles Britt will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Betty Sue is survived by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Donald Whitley of the home; sons, Gregory Donald Whitley, and wife, and their two daughters, David Duane Whitley, Jonathan Keith Whitley and wife, Karen and their son, Michael, and Timothy Scott Whitley and wife, Alisha, and her brother, Alton Britt of Wilson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Virginia Britt; sisters, Francine Edwards and Karlyn Edwards, and her brothers, Carl Edwards, Johnny Edwards, and Eric Edwards.
