Brenda Walston Thorpe

Brenda Walston Thorpe September 18, 1939 – March 9, 2021 Brenda Walston Thorpe, 81 of Wilson passed away Tuesday surrounded by her loving family. Her funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1815 Airport Boulevard, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Joe Shakour will officiate. For respect of others, please wear a mask and practice social distancing. The family will receive friends at the home. Brenda loved her family and the Lord, she served him faithfully. She loved working with children and in her yard. Brenda would volunteer at Avante to read the Bible and devotional books to the residents. Brenda is survived by her daughters, Debra T. Page and husband, Carlton of Wilson, Timberly T. Fulghum and husband, Randy of Wilson, and Stephanie T. Short and husband, Daniel of Elm City; son, Allen Thorpe and wife, Wendy of Black Creek; granddaughters, Christie Adams and husband, Andy, April Page, and Allison Page; grandsons, Zachary Short and Tyler Short; great-grandchildren, Lexi Adams, and Luke Adams and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earlan Ray Thorpe; parents, Lee and Meta Everette Walston, and her brothers, Lonnie Walston, Herman Walston, M.C. Walston, and Kinchen Walston. The family would like to express their gratitude of thanks to her caregivers, Christie and Cynthia from Community Hospice for their compassionate, love and kindness.
