Brooks McCoy Ambrose, of Kenly, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, April 14th, 2026. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Pentecostal Lighthouse, 4408 London Church Road, Elm City, North Carolina. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. with a service following at 6:00 p.m. A private burial service will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
At just 19 months old, Brooks made a lasting impact on every person he met. He was always such a happy, wild boy. His beautiful smile filled every room with happiness and joy. Brooks enjoyed spending time with his siblings, laughing and playing with the big ones, and loving and giving kisses to his baby brother. When a song came on he was up on his feet and clapping those hands together. He couldn’t help but dance, whether it was Ms. Rachel or a worship song praising the Lord. Brooks loved his big family, but especially his mama and daddy. From playtime to bath time, to rocking at night with his cup of milk; being in their presence was his favorite place to be. Brooks is already missed so deeply by all that knew and loved him, but we know he’s in the loving arms of our God, lighting up the streets of heaven with his smile, waiting for the day we are with him again.
Brooks is survived by his parents, Keith and Kelsey Ambrose; siblings Kamden, Everlee, Raelyn, and Charlie Ambrose; grandparents, Irvin and Dawn Ambrose; grandparents, Jeffrey and Jenny Hayes; great grandmother, Becky Powers; great grandparents, George and Rachel Pierce; great grandfather, Irvin Ambrose Sr. and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Keith Powers, Willie Mae Ambrose, Clarence Hayes, and Frances Hayes.
Condolences directed to Joyner’s Funeral Home and Crematory at www.joyners.net.
