Buck David McKeel, 80, of Wilson, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends.
Mr. McKeel grew up in Greene County, and was a regular at the Wilson County Senior Center and the Wilson Moose Lodge, where he played pool with his buddies. He had many hobbies and interests, but his favorites were watching Gunsmoke, gardening with his tractor, and could burn a bonfire like it was an art-form. He loved to listen to music with his grandsons and cruise around in his 1973 Lincoln Continental. He owned a lawn care business and was a propane delivery manager for many years.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 17th, from 5-7pm, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Pkwy, Wilson, NC 27896. Graveside will be Thursday, September 18th, at 2pm in Black Creek Cemetery, 5547 Woodbridge Rd, Wilson, NC 27893.
He is survived by his daughters, Gina Hoff (Les), Tina Strickland (Neil), and Lori McKeel; grandchildren, Brad Capps (Kellie), Cameron Hoff and David Hoff; brother, Ricky McKeel (Linda); and sister, Carol Forbes.
Preceding him in death are his wife, Lynda McKeel; parents, William “Bill” and Annie McKeel; brother, Billy McKeel; and sister, Margaret Ann Letchworth.
