Beverly Mangum Carter

Beverly Mangum Carter, 56, of Wilson passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Rev. Scott Sherrod will officiate.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5 – 6 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

After being diagnosed with an illness at sixteen years old, she graduated on time with academic achievements in Math and Science, even after missing one year of school. She was member of Downey’s Baptist Church. Through the last year of her illness, she sent out personalized daily devotions and encouragement to her loved one. Beverly was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and aunt who will be greatly missed.

Beverly is survived by her loving husband, John Carter of Wilson; her seven children, Olivia Claire and Lauren, Caitlin Elyssa Bennett (Shane), Spenser Manz (Taylor), Sydney Manz, Zoie Manz; grandchildren, Rhylee, Waylon, Everlee Blue, Oliver, Henley and Keeley Jane; mother, Linda Demilio Mangum and step-dad, Jim Lyndon; brother, David Ryan Mangum (Alyssa); several nieces and nephews, Wesley, Sean, Miranda, Mackenzie, Maria, Thomas, and aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by father, George Robert “Bob” Mangum, Jr.; paternal grandparents, George Robert “Bob” Mangum, Sr. and Mary Stearman Mangum; maternal grandparents, Luigi and Lucille Moore Demilio, her in-laws, A.D. Carter and Gena Carter.
