Carol Ann Friedrich

Carol Ann Friedrich November 21, 1957 – May 26, 2021 Carol Ann Friedrich, loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, cousin, and friend left this world on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at the age of 63. Born in Brooklyn, New York on November 21, 1957, Carol was the youngest daughter to late Robert H. and Dorothy Rankin Brown and younger sister, to late Linda Brown LaForte. Carol grew up in New York and in her teens was blessed to live with beloved family in England for several years. Carol spent her life as an accomplished accountant and as a licensed and talented beautician. Although, her true love and passion was for rescuing dogs. Carol was always happy to help anyone taking care of or finding good homes for their “dawggies”. She rescued several dogs throughout her life and adored her most recent fur child, Elliemae. In her free time Carol enjoyed getting together for tea, bringing special pastries to her family, going out for Italian, or skiing when able too. Most of all, was the love Carol had for her family near and far. Carol especially loved and cherished her younger brothers, “My Boys, Billy and Bob”, as she referred to them. She watched over them as they grew and was also their Godmother. She never grew tired of looking after her boys even after they had reached adulthood, making them their special sausage stuffing or homemade McMuffin breakfast sandwiches. The final year of her life was spent with one of her brothers in Sims, North Carolina after the passing of her late husband, Timothy Friedrich. She cherished all the times she had living or visiting with her family. Carol is survived by brothers, William “Billy” Brown, and Robert “Bobby” Brown; beloved aunt, Sheila Tarney of Overton Morecambe, England; beloved uncle, Edward C. Rankin of Massachusetts; nieces and nephews, Delores Portoles Pratt, Joseph Portoles, Jennifer and Lisa LaForte; several great nieces and nephews; four great-great nieces and nephews; cousins, Stephanie O’Donnell, Anne Marie Storey, Mark Rankin, Dean Rankin, Kimberley Rankin-Davis, Rebecca Rivenburgh, Graham Rankin, George Rankin, Shirley Dodd, Stewart Rankin, Paul Rankin, and Sara Rankin and very special people who were like sisters to Carol, Margaret Mason and Brenda Caufield. As well as her first husband, Steve Cantor whom she maintained a loving friendship. Carol is preceded by her parents, Robert H. Brown and Dorothy V. Rankin Brown; sister, Linda Brown LaForte; uncles, George Rankin, Sydney Rankin, David Rankin, and Clifford Tarney, and husband, Timothy Friedrich.
