Catherine Brown Strickland

Catherine Brown Strickalnd, 91, of Middlesex passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Stoney Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 9649 Stony Hill Road, Middlesex. Rev. Ricky Anderson will officiate.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Catherine was a lovely prissy lady that was devoted to her family and serving her Lord, she taught Sunday School at Middlesex Baptist. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she shined when she was the host of the family gatherings.

Catherine is survived by her granddaughter, Tiffany Allen and husband, Brian; grandson, Jeffrey Amerson; great-grandchildren, Jacob Perry, Bryson Allen, Bennett Allen, and Brody Allen and Kinsley Allen; son-in-law, Roger Amerson; sisters, Almeta Allen and husband, Johnny, Judy Brown, and Barbara Narron; brother, Hoyt Brown and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, Willis Strickland; daughter, Janet Amerson; parents, Allen and Reba Brown; sister, Shirley Hopkins and Margaret Allen; brother, Jay Brown, and Wallace Brown; sister-in-law, Gertrude Saunders and brother-in-law, John Strickland.
