Charlene Tyndall Barnes Owens July 15, 1936 – October 6, 2020 Charlene Tyndall Barnes Owens, 84 of Elm City, the daughter of the late Lafayette and Theris Boyson Tyndall passed away Tuesday. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home. Charlene is survived by her daughter, Jamie Gay and husband, Greg; sons, Michael L. Barnes and wife, Vivian and Alan T. Owens; granddaughter, Megan Gunnin, Hannah Slaughter, Misty Richards and Heather Owens; grandsons, Anthony Lucas and Kevin Lucas; great-grandchildren, Landon James Lucas, Bailee Lucas, Addison Lucas, Bentley Lucas, Cruz Gunnin, Hadleigh Slaughter, Kaitlyn Richards, Trenton Richards, Cecilia Richards, Caleb Owens and Cade Owens; her special niece, Alice Tyndall Miele and husband, Dr. William Miele; nephew, Dennis Tyndall and several other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Owens; step-son, J.E. Owens and her parents. The family would like to thank hospice and her caregivers for their support and loving care given to Charlene in her time of need.
