Charles “Charlie” Horace Bedgood IV, 41, of Wilson, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at First Presbyterian Church, 414 Sunset Road NW, Wilson. Rev. Nick DeMuynck will officiate. Burial will be held privately.
Charlie was devoted to his family, friends, and community. He was the president and owner of Carolina Office Products Inc., where he worked with dedication and pride. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Charlie was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity from 2003–2007, forming friendships that lasted his lifetime.
Committed to service, Charlie gave generously of his time and leadership to numerous organizations. He served as President of the Greater Wilson Rotary Club in 2012 and again in 2021. He was a CHEW board member since 2016. He was a longtime member of the Wilson Downtown Development Corporation, serving on the board from 2009–2017 and holding roles as Secretary (2010–2012), Vice President (2012–2013), and President (2013–2015). He was also a Past Exalted Ruler of Wilson Elks Lodge #840 (2018–2019). Most recently, Charlie was honored to be named President of Wilson Properties, where he served on the board for a total of 3.5 years.
Charlie’s interests painted a vivid picture of who he was. A history major with a deep and genuine curiosity, he especially loved studying World War II, though his knowledge stretched far beyond any one era—he was truly a vault of fascinating facts. When he wasn’t serving his community or spending time with family, Charlie could often be found painting or immersed in the world of Warhammer, meticulously custom-painting his characters before proudly battling them. He was funny, quick-witted, and endlessly thoughtful. Charlie was a friend to everyone he met, and he had a rare gift for making others feel seen, valued, and appreciated.
Charlie is survived by his loving family: his mother, Deborah “D.D.” Bedgood; his father, Charles H. Bedgood III; his sister, Baker Bedgood Stallings, and her husband, Robert; his brother, Connor Bedgood, and his wife, Sophia; and his adored nieces, Ella and Rory, who brought him immense joy.
