Charles Jerry Williams
January 30, 1936 – August 27, 2018

Charles Jerry Williams, 82 of Wilson passed away Monday at Kitty Askins in Goldsboro. His funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at Farmington Heights Church of God, 910 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Entombment will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Bobby Williams and Rev. LaVon Phillips will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 6:45 p.m. prior to the service at Farmington Heights Church of God and other times at the home.

Jerry began his career as a teenager with his father, Robert Williams, as a contractor. He later purchased the company, Robert Williams Construction Company, along with his brother-in-law, Sammy Barnes in 1979. He continued to work until his retirement in 2007. Jerry’s career included construction of Farmington Heights Church of God, where he is a member, St. Therese Catholic Church, Kiddie Kampus Day Care Center, Joyner’s Funeral Home and numerous other buildings around Wilson and surrounding counties. He was known to have developed several neighborhoods around Wilson. Jerry was a member of the Exchange Club of Wilson, served as a City councilman from December 7, 1989 to October 3, 2002. He has served as a council member at Farmington Heights Church of God and a member of the National League of Cities.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Felicia F. Williams; daughters, Hope Walston and husband, Connie Mack and Cindy Thorne and husband, Dee; grandchildren, Tammy Harold and husband, Troy, Anthony Thorne and Tyler Walston and wife, Brooke; great-grandchildren, Shaelyn Harold, Camden Harold and Emma Grace Walston; step-son, Ty Forbes; step-grandchild, Madison Forbes; brother, Rev. Bobby Williams and wife, Wanda of Sevierville, Tennessee; sisters, Louise Etheridge and husband, Louis, Peggy Barnes and husband, Sammy, Linda Easom and husband, Jimmy, Pat Turner and Gayle Haislip all of Wilson; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dearline Williams; parents, Robert and Mavis Williams and his brother-in-law, Elton Pridgen.
