Claudia Joyner Baker

Claudia Joyner Baker, 70, of Wilson passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Claudia was a devoted wife, mother, granny and friend whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched everyone who knew her. She served as the Executive Director of VRSW of Wilson, where she dedicated many years of service and leadership, making a lasting impact on her community and the lives of those she worked alongside.

Above all else, Claudia’s greatest joy was her family. She shared fifty-two wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Jamie Baker. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was a proud and loving mother to Lisa Cardona (JR) of Pine Level and Crystal Baker of Greenville.

Claudia adored her granddaughters, Mikayla Baker and Kyleigh Baker (Jesse), both of Greenville. They were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Her love, guidance, and encouragement will remain with them always.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Tina Joyner of Wilson, along with many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will miss her dearly.

Claudia was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Joyner; her brother, Mike Joyner; and her sister-in-law, Gail Baker.

Claudia will be remembered for her compassionate heart, her dedication to others, her strong faith, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the countless lives she touched.

The family finds comfort in knowing that Claudia’s love will continue to guide them, and her memory will forever remain in their hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
