Clinton Best Whitley

Clinton Best Whitley, 90 of Wilson passed away Thursday.  Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m.  Tuesday, December 27, 2022 in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.

The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Clinton loved to cook for his family and friends.  He was known for his barbeque pork chops, chicken pastry and cornbread. He enjoyed ECU tailgating. Clinton was retired from Inco and Wilson Iron Works. 

Clinton is survived by his sons, Randy Whitley and wife, Debbie, Dwayne Whitley and wife, Amy, and Wayne Whitley and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Mandy Wethington and husband, Travis, Courtney Whitley and Matt Taylor, Codey Whitley, Chelsea Whitley and Jacob La Cour, Tyler Whitley, and Blake Whitley; great-grandchildren, Tristyn Wethington, Luke Wethington, and Jaidyn LaCour, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda High Whitley; parents, J. Barley and Sudie Whitley; sisters, Dorothy Baker, Rosalee Page, Beck Schisvone and Joyce Lewis, and his brothers, Archie Whitley and Joe Whitley.
