David Roger Pyles

David Roger Pyles, 81 of Bailey passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Marsh Swamp OFWB Church, 6664 Rock Ridge School Road, Sims, North Carolina. Rev. Ray Wells will officiate. A visitation will follow after the service.

David was born in Springfield, Ohio to Roger and Betty Pyles on October 4, 1944. David moved to North Carolina in 1974 to work as a supervisor for Firestone. He was an avid UNC sports fan, and he loved to play golf, softball, bowling, but his life did call for some square dancing, his favorite. David, along with his wife, traveled to all fifty states and a few locations outside of the USA. He served his Lord faithfully and loved his family with all his heart.

David is survived by his daughter, Dee Dee Pyles Robinson of Bailey; son, Derrick David Pyles and wife, Joanne of Louisburg, and their children, Sophia and Julia; grandsons, Travis Lemmons and wife, Melissa of Holly Springs, and Matt Lemmons and wife, Mary of Kenly; great-grandchildren, Addi, Kenzie, Katie, and Avery; son-in-law, Lee Lemmons; sister Pennie Fourman and husband Scott; nephews, Todd Fourman and wife, Christy, Randy Fourman and wife, Amanda, and Jeff Fourman and wife, Alexis and three great nieces and three great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Donna Faye Pyles; daughter, Danee’ Lemmons; his parents, Roger and Betty, and his brother, Jerry Pyles.
