Deboorah Wellons Wood

Deborah Wellons Wood, 69 of Wilson passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026.

Deborah loved her family dearly. Deborah’s greatest pride and joy was her family and friends, whom she loved deeply and unconditionally.

She enjoyed spending her time listening to audiobooks, playing solitaire, tending to her flowers and plants and worshiping with her church friends.

Deborah is survived by her loving husband of five years, Michael Wood of Wilson; daughters, Jade Goodman and husband, Josh of Scottsdale, Arizona and Blanche Player and husband, Jarryd of Greenville, South Carolina; step-daughter, Dorothy Allen and husband, Chris of Dandridge, Tennessee; stepson, Michael Wood of Dandridge, Tennessee; grandchildren, Asher David Goodman of Scottsdale, Arizona and Elena Rose Player of Greenville, South Carolina; several step-grandchildren; her sisters, Cindy Thompson and husband, Frank of Spartanburg, South Carolina and Judy Paliotti of Topsail Beach and her special furry friends, Waldo and Basie.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, David Sloan and her parents, James and Mary Wellons.
