I have known Don for most of my life. I probably first met him at First Christian Church where we were both members or at Woodard Elementary School. We were at Charles L. Coon High School together. After that Don went on to Davidson and I went to UNC. We were good friends and I always enjoyed his companionship. I can remember us getting together during summer vacations and talking about who we were dating and what we were doing at the time. After college he went to work with his father at Cecil B. Lamm Insurance Co. and I went to work with my dad at Jordan Construction Company. After that we were both busy in our own lives trying to learn our respective trades and to earn our own living. We both married and had children. My daughters, Kim and Carrolle both took dance lessons with Don's daughter, Hunter. They loved this time in their lives and they loved Hunter. There is a lovely portrait by Claude Anthony of Carrolle in her ballerina outfit which stills hangs over our bed. The news that Don had accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior brought a smile to my face. Even though we both went to church , we had no idea that the problem of sin separated both of us from a Holy Righteous God. The whole concept of Jesus paying for our sin debt was not clear. We were taught to try to emulate Jesus and hopefully our good works would outweigh our bad works, never knowing how many or how much good we would have to do. Ephesians 2: 8 & 9. "For by grace are you saved by faith and that not of yourselves: It is the gift of God, not of works , least any man should boast." God is faithful and just. I look forward to one day seeing my old friend Don Lamm in the kingdom of God where Jesus Christ will rule forever. I would be interested in knowing who it was that led Don to our Savior at Spring Arbor. Ned Jordan - 230-9471
