Donnie Woodruff

Donnie Woodruff, 82, of Castalia passed away Sunday, July 2025. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Rev. Wayne Whitey will officiate.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 – 8 pm. July 24, 2025, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Donnie retired from Firestone after twenty-five years and was a long-distance truck driver for twenty years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. Donnie was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Donnie is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Joyce Woodruff; daughter, Rebecca A. Woodruff; sons, Joseph R. Woodruff and wife, Teresa, Ricky Woodruff, and James Woodruff and wife, Nancy; grandson, Matthew R. Woodruff; granddaughters, MaKayla I. Hackney and husband, Brandon and Caitlyn M. Woodruff; great-grandson, Rhyatt Woodruff; brother, Johnny Woodruff and wife, Brenda, and his special nephew, Ernest “Pookie” Woodruff and wife, Edna.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Woodruff and mother, Clyde Dawson Lucas, and his brothers, Ernest B. Woodruff, II, Billy D. Woodruff, Bobby G. Woodruff, and Bernice R. Woodruff, and his sisters, Carrie Bridgers, Cora Faye Holmes, Sue Coughlin, Virginia Bunn and Vivian Woodruff.
