Doretha Joyner Najera

Doretha Joyner Najera, 89, passed away on Saturday, November 4.  A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 8 at 1:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway.  Reverend Derek Bossolono will officiate.

Family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at Joyner’s Funeral Home.

Doretha is survived by her daughters, Teresa Najera Boykin and husband, Matt of Raleigh and Maria Najera Vick and husband, Carter of Wilson; granddaughter, Emily Lennon of Raleigh; grandsons, Russell Johnson and wife, April of Clayton and Bryson Deanhardt; great-grandson, Levi Lennon of Raleigh; and great-granddaughters, Ava Rose Johnson and Saylor Graham Johnson of Clayton.

Doretha was preceded in death by her loving husband, Pedro Pablo Najera; parents, William Calvin Joyner and Mary Ella Lindsey Joyner; sisters, Lettie Mae Vester, Sallie Wooten, and Hettie Belle Jones; and brothers, David Calvin Joyner and William Cornell Joyner.

The family would like to thank all of Doretha’s caregivers and staff at Parkwood Village, Gentiva Hospice, and the Sunshine Agency.
