Doris Batts Pridgen

Doris Batts Pridgen, 94, passed away on Thursday, February 1.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 6 at 11:00 am at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.  Interment will immediately follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, 2800 Nash Street N, Wilson.  Reverend Sang Park will officiate.

Family will receive friends on Monday, February 5 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home.

Doris is survived by her daughters, Frieda Westberg and husband, Gary of Elm City and Audrey Edwards and husband, Randy of Elm City; son, Wesley Pridgen and wife, Donna of Elm City; sisters, Ernestine Mercer of Elm City, Pat Mullen of Elm City, Shirley Gardner of Rocky Mount, Jo Bradshaw of Georgia, and Sue Hancock of Elm City; brother, James Batts of Knightdale; grandchildren, Heather Westberg (Chad Owens), Jeremy Westberg, Ryan Edwards (Jill), Paul Edwards (Catherine), Laura Edwards, Sarah Pridgen (Sean Pohorence); great-grandchildren, Ava, Ethan, Adron, and Libby Edwards; and sister-in-law, Huldah Hart of Elm City.

Doris was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred Pridgen and four brothers and two sisters.
