July 22, 1921 -August 1, 2013

Dorothy Blanche Adams Cook of Wilson, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 1, 2013, at Autumn Care of Nashville, NC, where she had been a resident since October 27, 2003.   She died peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren.   Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Saturday at Joyner's Funeral Home.   A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday in Evergreen Memorial Park.   Pastor Wayne King will officiate.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening immediately following the service at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, and other times will be at 2627 Joel Lane, Wilson.

Born in Johnston County, Blanche was the second youngest child of James Calton and Nancy Carol Adams.   She was the longest living child of their 10 children.   Blanche was a ??virtuous and capable-wife.   ??She was worth more than precious rubies.   Her children called her blessed.   Her husband praised her. ?   She was a faithful member of First Free Will Baptist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School class most of her adult life.   Her love for the Lord and her trust in God was evident in every way she served.   That ministry continued throughout her time at Autumn Care.   Her life and service was a testament to her love of Jesus Christ and continued into the sunset of her life and as she walked into the dawn of eternity with her Lord and Savior.  

Surviving are her three daughters, Judy Cook Pearson and husband, Alton of Reidsville, Brenda Cook Laws of Wilson, and Linda Cook Pike and husband, Cliff of Elm City; one son, Richard A. ??Ricky-Cook, Jr. and wife, Teresa of Wilson; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. ??Jack-Cook, the love of her life; her oldest daughter, Delores Cook Cone; and her grandson, Edward Lee ??Eddie-Cook, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Building Fund of First Free Will Baptist Church, 4865 Nash St. NW, Wilson, NC 27896.
