Dorthea Kathie Yelverton

Dorthea Katherine “Kathie” Yelverton, 72 of Fremont passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024.  Honoring the wishes of Kathie, the family will have a private service. Friends are welcome to visit at the home.

Kathie grew up in Swansboro and graduated from Swansboro High School where she was a cheerleader.  She was an avid sports fan and watching Duke basketball was one of her favorite pastimes.   Kathie enjoyed spending time at the beach.  She was a loving wife, mother and will be missed dearly.

Kathie is survived by her loving husband of forty-seven years, Jim Yelverton and her daughter, Alarie Yelverton.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael James Yelverton; parents, Paul and Polly Evans; sister, Melissa Haddock and her brother, Bernie Evans.
