Dwight Dewey Thorne October 8, 1948 - August 18, 2020 Dwight Dewey Thorne, 71 of Sims passed away Tuesday. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Joyner\'s Funeral Home, Wilson. The Reverend Joe Shakour will officiate. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1-1:45 p.m. at Joyner\'s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Dwight is survived by his wife, Judy Thorne, his sons; Chris Thorne of Wilson and Dennis Lucas of Manteo; and brother Okey Thorne of Wilson. He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Elton Thorne and mother, Dorothy Adams Ballance; brother, Merle Thorne and sister, Janice Brock.
