Edith Miller, 80, of Lucama went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 2, 2013. Her children by her side were, Marsha Miller of Lucama, Mary Heuer and husband, William of Gettysburg, PA, William R. Kemp and fiancée Sindy Alger of Zebulon, Robert Kemp and wife, Sarah of Wilson; and her grandsons, Jeffrey Kyle and John Kyle and his wife, Jessi.

Edith was born April 17, 1932, in Boston MA.-She was the daughter and second oldest child of the late Vincent and Edith Schofield.-She was preceded in death by her late husband, William Miller; her only brother, Vincent Schofield and her older sister, Genevieve Schofield.-Edith is survived by five sisters; Patricia Geysen and Pauline McCormick of MA, Gertrude Ebbs of CT, Jean Maddox of OK, and Nancy Schofield of UT.-She is survived by step-daughter, Tami Kemp-Sigford of CA and step-son, Richard Kemp of FL.-Edith was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Edith was a feisty woman right to the end.-She loved her family dearly, no matter what the circumstances of life came their way or hers.-She was very giving and forgiving and did love the Lord.-She attended Little Rock Free Will Baptist Church of Lucama, until she was not able to attend anymore.-De and the friends she made there still kept in touch and visited.-For that the family sincerely thanks them.

Edith worked for many years at BB&T in Wilson.-She also enjoyed employment at a Chinese restaurant to keep busy in retirement.-She loved Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and playing scrabble with her daughter Marsha while the doggies kept her company. The many visits by her children, grandchildren, and great-children always warmed her heart.

A Memorial service will be conducted 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Joyner-s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.-The Rev. Dr. DeWayne Eakes will officiate.-The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
