Elaine Baltzegar Hill

Elaine Baltzegar Hill, 90, of Wilson, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Forest Hills Baptist Church,1407 Forest Hills Road NW, Wilson, with Pastor Ray Barnhill officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m. at Forest Hills Baptist Church, Wilson.

Elaine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, educator and woman of faith who dedicated her life to caring for and loving others. She worked with Wilson County Schools for more than 40 years, where she taught and worked with children with special needs. Her patience, compassion and genuine love for others made a lasting difference in the lives of the children she served.

Her greatest joy was her family. Elaine treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always there to encourage, support and love them. She was the kind of mother and grandmother who made her family feel safe, loved and important. Her hugs, her smile, her words of encouragement and her unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Elaine faithfully served the Lord throughout her 90 years and served as a Sunday school teacher and church organist. Her faith was reflected in the way she lived her life—with kindness, compassion and a generous heart.

Elaine had a special gift for making people feel cared for. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary or special occasion and would faithfully send a greeting card. She never hesitated to reach out to others, and the love she showed so freely touched countless lives.

Although her family will deeply miss having her here, they are grateful for the lifetime of love, memories and lessons she gave them. Her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and through the many lives she touched during her remarkable 90 years.

Elaine is survived by her sons, Greg Hill and Russell Hill and his wife, Mary; grandsons, Jaret Hill and his wife Heaven, Austin Hill and Ryan Hill; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Hill; great-grandson, Carter Hill; her sister, Lou Ann Pittman and her husband, George; her brother-in-law Charles Adkins, and many other family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ray Hill; daughter-in-law, Fran Hill; grandson, Connor Hill; parents, Fred and Vera Baltzegar; and sisters, Brenda Buffaloe and Sandy Adkins. Memorial contributions may be made to Forest Hills Baptist Church, 1407 Forest Hills Road NW, Wilson
