Geraldine Skinner Parker

Geraldine Skinner Parker, 88, of Rocky Mount, passed away Tuesday. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Rev. Shawn Garnett and Rev. David Bridges and Caleb Hildebran will officiate.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service.

Geraldine loved spending time with her family, these were her most cherished moments. She also loved her church family and was a devoted servant to the Lord. She loved to spend beautiful days out in the yard working with her flowers, when she wasn’t in the gardens, she would spend her time in the kitchen on her other passion of cooking.

Geraldine is survived by her sons, Thomas Parker and wife, Cheryl of Elm City and Kenneth Parker and wife, Vicki of Nashville; granddaughters, Karen Dowen and husband, Rob of Elm City, Kelly Dowen of Wilson and Kati Hildebran and husband, Caleb of Morganton; great grandson, Jaxson Batten; great granddaughters, Julianne Batten and Skye Dowen; grand puppy, Toby Mac (Bubby).

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Cecil Thomas Parker, Sr.; parents, Johnny and Lina Webb Skinner; sisters, Fannie Corbett and Ruth Bottoms and brothers, John Skinner and Kenneth Skinner.

Flowers are welcome, as well as memorials made in Geraldine’s name to UNC Nash Hospice, 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Building 100, Rocky Mount, North Carolina, 27804.
