Elton “Lamont” Futrell 79 of Wilson passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 3rd, at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 202 N Goldsboro St S, Wilson, with visitation to follow the service. Inurnment will be at the columbarium.

Lamont was a graduate of NCSU and an avid Wolfpack fan. He was dedicated to St. Timothy’s Church, where he served as a deacon, attended a Bible study group, and was a loyal member of the men’s Sunday morning breakfast group. Lamont worked for Cargill for 30 years before forming Futrell Farms. He enjoyed friends and especially family get togethers.

Lamont is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Frances Edwards Futrell; granddaughter, Alexandria Kate Eatmon; brother, Glenn Elliott Futrell and wife Phyllis; nieces Glenda Futrell Berry and Jan Futrell and husband Tim Sullivan; and nephew Max “MG” Graham Futrell, Jr.

Lamont was preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine Futrell Eatmon; parents, Graham Futrell and Aileen Parks; and brother, Max Graham Futrell.
