 Elton C. “EC” Smith, Jr.

 January 19, 1947 – July 8, 2024

 Elton C. “EC” Smith, Jr. age 77, died peacefully on Monday July 8, 2024, at home at The Landing in Wilson. 

 He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Wade Smiley Smith, parents Elton and Mary Smith, and sister Mary Lee Boyette.

 He is survived by his sons; Clee (Lara) Smith, and Scott Smith of Greenville, sisters; Brenda (Marvin) Wood of Wilmington, Cathy (Bobby) Wood of Spring Hope, and sister-in-law Connie (Dwight) Batts of Chocowinity.

 The family wishes to thank his caregiver Teresa Dickens for her care in the years since the passing of his wife.

 He owned Elton Smith, Jr. Moving Company and Mini Storage in his working years and served with pride in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam years. He was also a lifetime member of the Wilson Moose Lodge.

 Per Elton’s request there will be no formal services for him. The family will have a private memorial service in the near future at The Landing. 

 In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.
