Genny Thorne Evans

Genny Thorne Evans, 74, passed away on Wednesday, March 15.  There will be a visitation on Friday, March 17 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home in Wilson, NC.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 18 at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wilson.  William Edwards will officiate.

Genny’s favorite outing was going to dine with her special friends on Friday nights at Western Sizzlin in Wilson.

Genny is survived by her husband, Donnie Evans; brothers, Jessie Thorne (Sue) and Joe Thorne (Doris); sister, Faye Denton; special nieces, Frances, Debbie, and Vickie; and special nephew, Jessie Thorne, Jr.

Genny was preceded in death by her parents, David Clifton Thorne and Ethel Lewis Thorne; sisters, Mollie Louise Thorne, Mary Joyner, and Barbara Davis; and brothers, David “Buddy” Thorne, Jr., Thomas Thorne, and George Thorne.
