George proudly served his country in the United States Navy after enlisting in 1969. He served honorably and carried that strength, discipline, and pride with him throughout his life.
He dedicated many years of his life to working in an auto parts store and within a printing company. Outside of his career, George was widely known for his deep love of sports. He enjoyed umpiring and had a true passion for anything sports-related. He also found joy in watching horse racing and game shows.
Above all, George was a devoted father, grandfather, and family man. He cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren, whether it was trips to the beach, watching his grandchildren play, or simply enjoying time together watching television.
George is lovingly survived by his children, Laura Elizabeth Damron, George Betti Jr., and Christopher Betti; his grandchildren, Karleigh Damron, Cory Damron, McKenna Betti, Mason Betti, and Sydney Betti; his sister, Linda Ferrin; and his stepchildren, Kendal Miner and late Onikalin. He also shared a special bond with his beloved cat, Muffin.
Throughout his life, George faced many challenges with unwavering faith and strength. He courageously battled bladder cancer and was blessed with remission by the grace of God. He also endured other health challenges, including dementia, yet continued to persevere. After a lifetime of strength and resilience, George was called home to be with the Lord.
He will be remembered for his kind heart, his enduring strength, and the deep love he had for his family. George will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” Matthew 25:23
