George William Jones

George William Jones, 75 of Elm City passed away Monday, November 6, 2023.  Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2023 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.  A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Elm City.  Pastor Johnny Taylor will officiate.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 – 6:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.

George is survived by his wife, Linda Jones of the home; daughter, Lisa Pollard and husband, Michael of Kenly; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Pollard of Kenly and Cayley Jones of Elm City; grandson, Blake Coley and wife, Briley of Sharpsburg; great-grandson, Waylon Coley of Sharpsburg; great-granddaughter, Kensley Pollard of Kenly, and his sister, Mary Gardner.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Jones; father, George Buck Jones and his mother, Virginia Cooke Gay.
