Geraldine Strickland Long February 21, 1945 – February 25, 2021 Geraldine Strickland Long, 76 of Wilson passed away Thursday. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Tommy Hagen will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, and other times at the home of her daughter, Carol Long. Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Carol Long and partner, Edward Ray Price of Lucama; son, Johnny R. Long, Jr. of Wilson; grandchildren, Brittany Luna and husband, Ray, Amber Merced and husband, Luis, and Christopher Long; great-grandchildren, Ray Luna, Jr., Hailey Luna, Stetson Luna and Naomi Merced; sisters, Jeanette Garris and Ruby Lucas and her brother, Kenneth Strickland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Long, Sr.; granddaughter, Charlotte Tramell; parents, Worth and Elsie Taylor Strickland and her brothers, George Strickland, James Strickland and Dwight Strickland.
