Grady "Tuffy" Lee Barnes, Jr.

Grady “Tuffy” Lee Barnes, Jr., 82 of Wilson passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.

The family will receive friends and relatives Saturday evening, July 18, 2026, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Tuffy is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Barnes; daughter, Leigh Beaver and husband, Kevin; step-daughter, Gina Childress and husband, Todd; sons, Allen Barnes and wife, Jeanne, Grady Barnes, III (Trey) and fiancé, Kim; grandchildren, Lauren, Brandon, Bryan, Cory, Seth, Ryan, Lia, Ryder, Tristan, Madison, Anna, Brad, and Jordan; seventeen great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; his siblings, Melda Jean Barnes Turner and husband, Jimmy, Sydney Barnes Young and husband, Gilbert, Wendy Barnes Allen Tolbert and husband, Randy, and Cathy Barnes Black and husband, Frank, and the mothers of his children, Mary Jeanette Bryant and Dianne Whitley Barnes.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Cleveland Thomas Barnes and Brent McAllister; step-son, Jack Bradley; parents, Grady, Sr. and Della Barnes and his brother, Rusty Barnes.
