Harrison Edward Barkley

Harrison Edward Barkley, 46 of Farmville passed away Friday, February 20, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Elm City Methodist Church, 106 N Parker Street, Elm City. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Elm City. Rev. Dennis Goodwin will officiate.

The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. at Elm City Methodist Church, Elm City.

Harrison was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Farmville Masonic Lodge. Harrison loved his son, Reed, and faithful dog, Pearl. He was an avid Duke and ECU fan. Harrison enjoyed life, his friends, and never met a stranger.

Harrison is survived by his son, Harrison Reed Barkley and his mother, Ellen of Pinetown; parents, Brooks and Betty Barkley; brother, Thomas Brooks Barkley and wife, Wendy of Wilson; niece, Claire Rhodes Barkley; nephew, Graham Thomas Barkley; aunt, Susie Langley Howard and husband, Allen, cousin, Jennifer Howard, and aunt, Peggy Barkley Goodwin and husband, Dennis.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Tom and Myrtle Langley and paternal grandparents, Ed and Sue Barkley.
