Hazel Louise Robbins Pate

Hazel Robbins Pate, 85, of Lucama passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. She was born in Farmville, North Carolina and was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one granddaughter, and her beloved cat.

Hazel is survived by her daughter, Wanda Wooten (Paul), son, Bryan Whitley, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She was known by her many friends for her love of the beach and fishing. Hazel was especially well-known at Bogue Inlet Pier of Emerald Isle, where she could often be found casting a line or reeling in a catch. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and was known for her chicken pastry and love of eating seafood.

Hazel spent many years as a dedicated employee of Wal-Mart where she was recognized for her personality and generosity to others. Her early career was devoted to her work as a Cosmetologist and as a CNA.

The family will receive friends Friday morning, June 26, 2026, from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. prior to funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park in Wilson.
