Iva Lanier Glasco, of Rocky Mount passed away on Friday, November 18,2022at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.
Family will receive friends Monday, November 21, 2002 from 1 – 1:45 p.m. at West Edgecombe Baptist Church, 13821 NC 43, Rocky Mount.
A Memorial Service will be held immediately following at 2 p.m. at West Edgecombe Baptist Church with the Rev. Matthew Mayo of West Edgecombe Baptist Church officiating.
Glasco was born in Rocky Mount to James Lester Lanier, Sr. and Emma Flye Lanier on March 30, 1931. She graduated from West Edgecombe School and went on to get her nursing degree from Wilson Technical College. She began her forty-year career in nursing at Friendly Elm Nursing Home in Elm City and ended it by retiring as a nurse for the Osceola Correctional Facility in Florida. She was involved in the Homebound Ministry and the YAH (Young At Heart) Club while a member at West Edgecombe Baptist.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Glasco; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. James L. Lanier, Sr, and her stepson, Thomas H. Glasgow, Jr.
Surviving are her children, Debbie Watson and husband, Randall of Rockingham, Cindy Renfrow and husband, Les of Zebulon, and Tom Glasgow, III and wife, Kara of Palmetto, Florida; her brother, Jim Lanier and his wife, Ann of Greenville; nine grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one niece and three great nephews.
Memorials may be given to the Homebound Ministry of West Edgecombe Baptist Church, 13821 NC 43, Rocky Mount, North Carolina 27801 in lieu of flowers.
